Meg’s Transformation Scene 60

Megan began to contemplate the ramifications of what he just said. She would not make the same mistake as last time and dupe herself into believing he still wanted her. Nor would she dismiss him right away. She would test him out, take things nice and slow, and see what happened.
“How are things with Anna?”
“Great,” he answered. “Listen, a friend of mine from college is visiting. I was wondering if maybe you wanted to hang out with us.”
Megan didn’t know what to make of it. If she didn’t know better, she would say Ted was trying to set her up. But he wouldn’t do that. Then again, he wouldn’t cheat on her either and look what happened? Still, she spent a good part of the day feeling lonely. Here was a perfect opportunity. Or, given her current run of luck, a disaster waiting to happen. Besides, she had had a long day…not to mention the fact that she was in diapers. But did she really have anything left to lose? Decisions, decisions.
A”OK,” she replied, trying to restrain her jubilation. “Sounds cool.”
B”Thanks,” she answered. “But I can’t. Some other time.”
