The date of Carrie’s rendezvous with Chris arrived and she was giddy with nervous excitement. Megan felt happy for her, but at the same time began wondering if she made the right choice by helping her. The thought of something bad happening came up now and again, despite her attempts to dismiss it.
“Excited?” she asked.
“Nervous,” Carrie replied.
“Just remember what we said,” Nancy reminded her.
Carrie nodded. She wasn’t about to blow this opportunity by going against her parents’ mandate.
“You might as well get your diaper on.”
