I hung listlessly from my momma’s hands as she picked me up and carried me back into the living room to sit with my “sister” Gina. Tears of utter defeat rolled silently down my face as I sat there looking up at my momma. I felt betrayed, abandoned by my inner desires. I didn’t want men to look at me like this. I only wanted to hide, to find somewhere safe where no one would see me. I wanted someone strong to wrap their arms around me, to huddle me close to them and save me from what I had become.
