After panicking and nearly turning around several times, Megan finally reached her destination in under two hours’ time. Kylie had not exaggerated the circumstances of her malaise; the town really WAS small. Megan was able to drive through it and see all the highlights within five minutes. There was a general store, the local alternative to a CVS or a Bledsoe’s. There was a small movie theater whose marquee featured titles that were several months old. There were two churches, a playing field, an elementary school/daycare and, of course, the lake.
