Megan then went to Carrie to see how she felt about the idea.
“What if, instead of going away, you spent some more time with me?”
“Like what?” Carrie asked.
“Hung out, followed me to work…basically, stayed away from Mom and Dad for most of the day.”
“Sounds great,” Carrie answered. “What’s the catch?”
“The catch?” Megan replied. “Umm…. yeah. The catch is that you would have to obey me; show me a little respect.”
“Will you not go on any power trips?”
Megan stuck out her tongue. “Take the fun out of it, why don’t you?”
“Meg…”
“Fine. You?”
“I think I can do that. It beats going anywhere near Ricard.”
Megan nodded in agreement.
“Hey Meg?”
“Yeeesss?”
“You’re gonna let me do more of what I want to do, right?”
“That depends what it is.”
