“Peter,” said mum, answering the door wide. “Come on in. Alison is ready.” That was me. Alison and her first date. I blushed and smiled and said a very faint hello. Peter smiled back and said I looked very beautiful. Well at least he thought I was a good looking girl close up and hadn’t been suspicious.
“Shall we go,” he said in a kind voice that didn’t really register at first. “Come on then Alison,” said mum. “Oh yes, sorry,” I whispered back.
